Stuff like this makes me wonder how dangerous DCI corps would be if they had sousas instead of contras
Contras are superior for tone quality over Sousa phone bro. This is good for cranking. DCi is about the sonority of the sound of the brass and Sousa spreads alot. contra does not. Contras play alot better to for the players.
DCI Is about volume AND BALANCE so there won’t be any Sousa in dci, if every instrument was used for power, they’d use sousas

Graduated from kirby in 07. Was a freshman/sophomore during this time, even see a few familiar faces. Was also there when we had that riot at the battle of the band against Raleigh-Egypt (if I recall correctly) in that same gym.
